John Gallagher MD, MS

Dr. Gallagher is a highly skilled and compassionate interventional spine and pain management physician dedicated to helping patients restore mobility, reduce pain, and improve their quality of life. Originally from New Jersey, Dr. Gallagher is proud to serve the Jupiter & Port St. Lucie, community, offering advanced, minimally invasive treatments designed to relieve pain without major surgery or long-term medication use.

Dr. Gallagher earned his undergraduate degree from Bucknell University, where he balanced the rigorous demands of academics with the commitment of being a college football player. Competing at a high level instilled in him the values of discipline, perseverance, and teamwork—qualities that continue to shape his approach to patient care today. His experience as an athlete also gave him first-hand insight into the impact of injuries and pain management, fueling his passion for helping others overcome physical limitations and achieve peak performance.

Following his undergraduate studies, Dr. Gallagher pursued a Master’s degree in Health Sciences at Drexel University, strengthening his research and clinical medicine foundation before earning his Doctor of Medicine degree from St. George’s University. He then completed an internship at Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome, Georgia, before specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Drexel University in Reading, Pennsylvania. To further refine his expertise in treating spine and musculoskeletal disorders, Dr. Gallagher pursued an Interventional Spine and Pain Management fellowship at Cantor Spine Center at the Paley Orthopedic and Spine Institute, where he trained under the esteemed Dr. Anthony Giuffrida.

Dr. Gallagher works closely and collaborates with his colleagues, the renowned spinal surgeons of Cantor Spine Center, Dr. Jeffrey Cantor and Dr. Scott Raffa, and the 20+ other specialized orthopedic surgeons at the Paley Orthopedic and Spine Institute. This multidisciplinary approach ensures that each patient receives comprehensive, state-of-the-art care tailored to their specific needs. By integrating the expertise of both interventional and surgical specialists, Dr. Gallagher helps patients explore the most effective, least invasive treatment options before considering surgical intervention.

Dr. Gallagher is committed to a patient-centered, conservative philosophy, tailoring treatment plans to each individual’s needs. He believes in exploring every possible option to eliminate pain and restore function, focusing on noninvasive and technologically advanced methods that provide lasting relief. His expertise includes fluoroscopic and ultrasound-guided procedures, regenerative medicine, neuromodulation, and state-of-the-art interventional techniques—all designed to address chronic pain while minimizing the need for surgery or dependence on long-term medications.

Now calling Florida home, Dr. Gallagher is excited to be part of the Jupiter & Port St. Lucie medical community. He enjoys spending time with his wife and embracing Florida’s active lifestyle. Outside of medicine, he is an avid sports fan and enjoys exercising, golfing, spending time at the beach, and participating in various recreational sports.
